CELEBRATE: Light up the FASD World

Light Up the Night: FASD RED Landmark Lighting on September 9-10

As we approach International Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) Awareness Day on September 9, we invite you to join us in a powerful and visually striking event: the FASD RED Landmark Lighting. From sunset to sunrise, iconic landmarks around the world will light up in red to raise awareness about FASD and honor those affected by this condition.

Why Participate?

This initiative is not just about lighting up buildings; it’s about illuminating the conversation around FASD. By participating, you help shine a light on the realities of FASD, fostering understanding and support within your community. This year, let’s make a collective effort to raise awareness and show solidarity for individuals and families impacted by FASD.

Share Your Experience!

We encourage you to capture the moment! Whether you’re visiting a local landmark, participating in a community event, or simply enjoying the view from your home, take photos of the red lights and share them on social media. Use hashtags like #FASDRED and #RedShoesRock to connect with others participating in this global movement.

How to Get Involved

  1. Find a Landmark: Check if there are any local landmarks participating in the FASD RED lighting. If you’re unsure, visit the Red Shoes Rock website for a list of participating locations.
  2. Invite Friends and Family: Encourage your loved ones to join you in this awareness campaign. The more people involved, the greater the impact!
  3. Share Your Photos: Post your pictures on social media, tagging FASD United and using the designated hashtags. Your participation can inspire others to learn more about FASD.
  4. Attend Local Events: Many communities will host events to coincide with the landmark lighting. Check local listings for gatherings, walks, or educational sessions happening on or around September 9.

Let’s come together to light up the night and raise awareness for FASD. By sharing your experiences and photos, you can help create a ripple effect of understanding and support. Remember, every picture shared and every conversation started contributes to a brighter future for those affected by FASD. Join us in making this FASD Awareness Day unforgettable!
