Why did we create Red Shoes Rock

The Red Shoes Rock FASD Aware social initiative was created to further raise awareness and understanding of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASDs) in a unique and engaging way. The initiative aims to unite individuals and organizations in a visible and powerful symbol of support for those affected by FASDs.

The choice of red shoes as the symbol for this initiative is significant. Red shoes symbolize walking in the shoes of those living with FASDs, raising awareness about their experiences, and fostering empathy and understanding. The color red also represents passion, strength, and determination, all of which are essential in advocating for FASDs.

By encouraging individuals to wear red shoes and share their photos and stories on social media using the hashtag #RedShoesRock, the initiative creates a sense of community and solidarity. It allows individuals to come together, share their experiences, and amplify their voices. This collective effort helps break down the silence and stigma surrounding FASDs, encouraging open dialogue and promoting understanding.

The Red Shoes Rock FASD Aware social initiative also aims to educate and inform the public about FASDs. Through social media platforms, individuals can share educational resources, personal stories, and information about prevention and support. This initiative serves as a platform for advocating for improved services, policies, and resources for individuals living with FASDs.

Additionally, the initiative fosters a sense of celebration and positivity. Rather than solely focusing on the challenges and limitations of FASDs, it highlights the strengths, talents, and achievements of individuals living with this condition. It celebrates their unique abilities and contributions, further promoting inclusivity and empowerment.

Overall, the Red Shoes Rock FASD Aware social initiative was created to bring attention to FASDs in an engaging and powerful way. By wearing red shoes, sharing stories, and advocating for change, participants can make a meaningful impact in raising awareness, promoting understanding, and supporting individuals living with FASDs.
